Scores on the Doors

This is a new countrywide council initiative to define food hygiene in the form of a star award system by publishing an inspection rating on the internet - www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk

We have been awarded ‘4 stars’ which is classed as ‘very good’ with good food safety management and a high standard of compliance with food safety legislation (5 is the maximum).

The system basically focuses on anywhere which supplies food to the public. We were one of only a handful of early years settings to gain a 4 star rating. Stewarts Wine Bar and Presence were the only eateries in the High Street represented to receive awards. The local Infant, Junior and Senior schools were also rated. Everywhere inspected in the past year has been given a rating from Macdonald's to the Magic Mushroom. The council hopes people will use the website to view the ratings of local eateries they visit.

This is a wonderful achievement for us and my thanks go to all our staff for maintaining our high standards.

We will be renovatating our Tea Room over the summer break and then we will apply the the Council's Healthy Eating Award.
